How To Combat Addiction & Stop Smoking Weed As A Christian

1. Trust in God with all aspects of your life, but especially that He can help you and wants to because He loves you.

2. Continue to declare it in your mind and with your words even if you still fall. Straight up say “I don’t _____ no more” even if you literally fell earlier that day.

3. Avoid environments and ideologies that encourage it. And if that's not enough, you need to fight back with the Word of God.

4. Understand your potential without hinderance. God straight up told me using drugs and substance was like trying to walk with Him and carry my cross with a crutch.

5. Understand the effects on your own body. Write down how you feel after falling, especially when your sober streaks grow longer. Pay attention to any patterns or triggers. I noticed that using would bring me from up high and happy to down low and depressed (suppressed even).

6. Find your root of why you use if you haven’t already. The real deep rooted one, it can be trauma inflicted, out of loneliness and boredom, or something else entirely. Ask the Lord to lead you in this journey.

7. Grow closer to Jesus. Have a real, raw relationship with Him. Tell Him your worries. Give them to Him.
